Our goal for Kid’s Ministry is that children grow up to be active members of the body of Christ who have a passion for God, the Bible, and Spirit-led service. This means that we train kids up from the earliest stages, starting in our nursery and toddler classes. We continue to foster spiritual growth through childhood and young adulthood using various programs tailored to each age group. As they grow in knowledge and understanding of how the body of Christ functions, the hope is that these children will continue to be fruitful members of the church through all life stages.
This ministry is for our youngest children, ages 0-2 years. At this stage, volunteers interact with children to teach them basic social skills like sharing, kind words, calming techniques, and basic learning skills such as colors, shapes, animal sounds, and food names. This ministry allows parents to focus on their own worship time and encourages the little ones to interact with each other young children while under supervised care. This ministry offers childcare during the Sunday School hour and Service hour, so that parents do not need to disrupt their worship and fellowship time to retrieve their young children until after the Service.
This ministry is for toddlers ages 3- Kindergarten. At this stage, volunteers foster readiness skills through songs, games, crafts, and lessons. The children will be learning Bible lessons each week and following a curriculum designed to grow their young minds and souls. This ministry offers childcare during the Sunday School hour and the Service hour so that parents do not need to disrupt their worship and fellowship time to retrieve their young children until the Service has concluded.
This ministry is for kids in 1st – 5th grade. The children begin with a Sunday School time which concludes around 9:45 when they join the adults in fellowship, prayer, and worship. Before the sermon begins, the children will be dismissed to their classes where they will learn from a curriculum designed to reach various levels of spiritual development. Children in these age groups have very diverse passions, abilities, and spiritual understandings so our lessons are diverse to reach the hearts and minds of each child! This class also includes song time and various hands-on activities to enhance learning. Seasonally, these classes may prepare for special programs which allow them to practice public speaking, acting, group singing, and foster other skills in the arts like creating costumes and set pieces.
Check-in & Safety
The Check-in system is located in the main lobby, to the left of our Welcome Desk, and directly past the refreshments table. Ethan Derliunas is the head of our Kid’s Ministry and is available to address any questions or concerns during the check-in/ check-out process. Our children’s ministry uses modern security measures to check-in / check-out each child so you will be asked to download an App to your phone at the first check-in. The check-in system also allows parents to notify volunteers about any food allergies or medical concerns that might arise during ministry hours. Each volunteer has child safety clearances, is educated in proper child-care protocols, and the building is monitored by trained staff during ministry hours.
